NEW AGE CLEANING TECHNOLOGY

In the last 50 years, the Aircraft and Engine Maintenance and Repair business (now known as MRO) has experienced an important shift in attitudes towards component cleaning and the technologies used.
Changes can be spotted in the way the parts are now cleaning (involving less manual work and including automated processes), and in the higher degree of relevance in the workshop.

Neglected obscure area

Historically the cleaning bay was, or still is in many MRO operations, an area that you avoided taking visitors to.
Often an area where the lights are kept down, a neglected process area that lacks investment and management attention.
Under those circumstances, the fact that the cleaning process is a crucial step in the maintenance cycle was ignored. As a consequence, a large amount of time was consumed for aerospace parts cleaning, and a significant number of parts were sent back, to the initial point, for recleaning. Slowing the flow and affecting the shop efficiency.

The light was turned on

Thanks to the tightening of regulations and standards, the old cleaning model evolved. Several traditional chemicals were banned because they were harmful to the individuals involved in the cleaning process, and also to the environment.
In certain parts of the world, where Environmental Health & Safety regulations are very strict and enforced by the regulators, the industry was forced to change.
As a result, new regulations bonded with new technologies reaching the aerospace standards and upgrading the relevance of the cleaning stage, where reliability, precise cleaning, and work safety occupy an indispensable part.

New Age Cleaning Technology

Naturally, the successful implementation of the new tools brought to the cleaning area less manual work, fewer errors, short cleaning cycles, and the possibility to trace and reproduce processes.
These changes resulted in a New Age Cleaning Technology that includes smart technology that is currently being adopted by many MRO and OEM as their cleaning standard.
Our goal, at the DAES Group, is to bring these technologies to you so you can enjoy the benefits and we can all contribute and enjoy a better environment.

Is your cleaning process providing you with the best cleaning results at the lowest cost and shortest cycle time?
